KORAN AND WOMEN
Did you know?
The Koran is the ONLY text on which a religion is based, that contains this statement (and predates women's rights movements): "AND FOR WOMEN ARE RIGHTS EQUAL TO THE RIGHT AGAINST THEM IN WHAT IS JUST.." There is no religious book, not even the constitution of the United States, which states explicitly like the Koran,
"And for women are rights equal to the rights against them in what is just (2:28)."
Did you know that, Islam based on the Koran [which is very different to the Islam that Muslim masses believe in], gave women the right to property ownership and a voice in legal testimony centuries before such "revolutionary" ideas were even dreamed of by Christian Europe or the New World?
Did you ever imagine that,
Islam has never had a problem with women in authority. Even in modern days, Muslim lands have seen female heads of states. We have yet to see a woman president in the United States?
Maybe you don't know that:
Men and women are of equal human status in the Koran (Koran 3:195), however Christian doctrine on which the early American societies were based, had Biblical norms which hold that a woman is subordinate to a man (1 Corinthians 14:34) and are created for man (1 Timothy 2:11)
IS POLYGAMY YOUR VIEW OF ISLAM?
The Koran severely restricted the open practice of Polygamy in society. Surprised? Amazed? The ONLY major "religious" book that states, "... Then MARRY ONLY ONE (Koran 4:3)," is the Koran. The Bible doesn't prescribe monogamy. All through the Old and New Testament, Polygamy was the practice and laws are constructed assuming polygamous marriage. "If he take him another wife her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage shall he not diminish (Exodus 2:10- The Bible)."
Did they ever tell you?
The early Lutheran Church in Germany, particularly the city of Munster proclaimed polygamy (polygyny) as the "ideal form of marriage" ( Cairncross 1974:1).
You didn't expect that:
The Koran restricted the practice of Polygamy and suggests MONOGAMY as the ONLY acceptable form of marriage for Society in general.
Polygamy is only encouraged by the Koran where it concerns "oppressed or the orphans among women (4:3)", if justice can be done by marrying more than one. If justice cannot be done by marrying more than one from among the "oppressed (Yatama)" class of women, then the Koran suggests monogamy as the ONLY acceptable marriage bond in Islam.
"...THEN MARRY ONLY ONE! (Qur'an 4:3)."

The word Islam comes from the Arabic "Salaam", which means "PEACE." The universal greeting of Muslims is "As Salaam o Aleykum". It means: "peace be with you." That the word "holy war" is not to be found in the Koran. The Arabic word "Jihad" that the media translates as "holy war" actually means "struggle." YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT: Barbarous Muslims ran over Christian lands converting people at the point of the sword. They don't tell you that the FIRST "religious" book to emphasise freedom of conscience was the Koran: "THERE IS NO COMPULSION IN RELIGION (Koran 2:256)." EVER IMAGINE THAT:
The idea of a United Nations working for world peace is actually borrowed from the Koran: "There is no good in much of their conferences except, him who enjoins almsgiving and kindness and PEACE MAKING among mankind. Whoever does that seeking the good pleasure of God. God will bestow on him (her) a vast reward (KORAN 4:114)."
Islam gives a world view of a close relationship between all men & women based on a common ORIGIN OF HUMANKIND [Koran 4:1] AND ONE CREATOR GOD.
"They ask you concerning INTOXICANTS (Alcohol and other Drugs)...Say: In them is great harm and some benefits for humankind. But the harm of them is much greater than their benefit (Qur'an 2:219) DO YOU KNOW? The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States uses the criterion of the Qur'an given above when it tests any new innovative drug. If the harm or side effects of any drug are found to exceed their usefulness, they are BANNED from further production and marketing. Alcohol is such a "drug." It is the most highly abused "drug" in the United States. Its harm far exceed its benefits, as a beverage. Therefore it should be BANNED from any further production, marketing and consumption just like other "drugs"

In 1991, The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) reported that FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) is the leading known cause of mental retardation in Western Civilization
71% of spouse abusers have alcohol problems.
Alcohol affects area of the brain involved in social control. Leads to aggressive and bizarre behavior by producing "anomie."
It causes permanent damage to the brain and liver and most internal organs of the consumer. Alcohol is a "poison," which the body tries to get rid of the moment it is consumed.
It acts as a "stepping-stone" for other "higher" drugs like Marijuana, Cocaine and Heroine. Those who don't do alcohol don't experiment with other drugs (Siegel, Sienna 1994)
