The Guest

A guest arrived at the house of the Prophet of Islam [PBUH=Allah bless him and grant him peace]. Upon the arrival, he [PBUH]sent for his wives to bring something for that man to eat. Unfortunately, they had nothing to offer but water
Consequently, the Prophet of Islam [PBUH]asked other Muslims:
"Who will take this person as a guest?"
A man stood up and took the traveller to his house where he said to his wife:
"Entertain this man with generosity."
So the woman declared:
"We do not have anything to offer except the dinner for our children."
So the man said:
"Prepare the dinner, light up the lamps and put the children to sleep if they ask for food."
The next day, the Prophet [PBUH] saw him, smiled and declared:
"And whosoever is saved from his own covetousness, such are they who will be the successful." [Qur'an 59:9]
