Hazrat Abu Talib praises the Holy Prophet
(pbuh&hf)
The following is from The Beacons of Light by at Tabrisi, W.O.F.I.S,
Tehran, Iran.
Surely the Prophet Muhammad, son of
Aminah,
Is for me like my own Child.
When he held on to the halter of my camel, I felt
compassion for him,
Even as the white camels were loaded,
Copious tears flowed from my eyes
Tears like scattered pearls
I treated him kindly as befits a close relative
And guarded well the trust of his forefathers concerning him.
I ordered him to ride among paternal uncles,
With white faces, brave swordsmen,
They travelled to the furthest known station -
Far indeed was the station where their camels lay down !
When at last the people of Busra saw him,
They met a learned monk who was keeping close watch
He related to them a true account concerning him,
And thus turned back the people of envy
A group of Jews also saw what he saw :
The shade of a white cloud and the glory of a close relative
They went seeking to kill Muhammad, and he restrained them,
And thus engaged in the best of struggle.
In praise of the Imams (A.S.)
My heart is fine and bright with the love of
Haydar
Next to Haydar, al-Hasan is our Guide and Leader.
The dust beneath the Shoes of al-Husain
is the eyeliner (surmah) for my eyes.
al-Abideen, the ornament of all devotees
is like a crown on my head.
al-Baqir is the light of both my eyes.
The religion of Ja'far is true and the path of Musa is right.
O, loyal, ones: listen to me praising the King of Kings (al-Ridha)
who is buried in Khurasan.
A particle from the dust of his tomb is the cure of all pains
Leader of men of faith is al-Taqi, O dear Muslims
If you love al-Naqi in preference to all other people,
you have done the thing which is proper and right.
al-Askari is the light of the eyes of both Adam and the world.
Where can be found, in the world,
such a chief in command like al-Mahdi?
Poem from Behesti Zewar
The crown of creation set with richest gems
Diamonds and rubies in value beyond ken
Unequaled in brilliance, unique of kind
Are thou, O great Prophet! to all mankind.
Truthful by nature and of most saintly men,
All called thee the Trusty, the Al-Ameen,
Most loving to children, courteous to all,
To animals, tender, alike to great and small,
Never on earth a nobler soul has trod,
Never had another showed a truer way to God.
O sweetest flower that ever on earth did bloom,
Matchless alike in divine beauty and perfume,
O whitest lily that human eyes have seen,
O loveliest rose that in the world had been.
All nature join in homage, all men adore
Thee who brought light to a dark some world,
Thee whose teachings are as a necklace of pearls
Which when worn does radiant beauty impart,
Adding luster to body, soul and to heart.
Ya Rasool-Allah! our dearest friend and guide,
May God's eternal blessings with thee abide.
From the Arabian deserts thou surrounded thy call
To the worship of God, the Lord of all:
From the Arabian deserts thou taught mankind
Now the truest knowledge of God to find.
Thy words flew as lightening the whole world around
Of Truth and Light they did fully abound,
And nations, acknowledging the power of their sway,
Did find and follow the most truthful way.
In the wake of thy words true piety did spring,
And great knowledge and virtues did truly bring.
Never on earth a better soul was born,
Never the world did a purer soul adorn.
Man was fast sinking in idolatry and sin
When thy great mission did first begin.
Then in place of darkness thou Light did give,
And taught mankind the noblest way to live;
And reformed the world as never before,
And unique blessings on it did bestow.
Praise be to Allah for this favor divine
In sending thee the wicked world to refine,
Search the world though we may find from pole to pole
While the great ocean of time does onward roll,
A more perfect Prophet never can we find
Than thee who, thank God, gave Islam to mankind
Ya Rasool-Allah! my homage I make to thee,
Ya Nabi-Allah! my love I tender thee,
My life, my all, for thee I gladly give,
Thy divine messages shall with me forever live.
My love for thee no bounds does know,
In my heart thy memory shall ever glow
May Allah shower His choicest blessings on thee
May Allah grant thee peace for all eternity.
(Ameen)
