About the Photographer
Peter Sanders was born in London in 1946. His professional career in photography began during the mid-sixties where he photographed most of the major stars in the music business including Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Who, the Rolling Stones etc. In 1970 he made a photographic/spiritual journey to India. His enthusiasm for studying religion introduced him to Islam whose spiritual beauty left an indelible impression upon him. After his return to England, he embraced Islam and was given the name Abd al-Adheem. His continued travels have taken him from West Africa to East Africa, around the Middle East including Makkah, Madinah and Jerusalem, Europe and the USA. He says that photography really is a gift from God. Its a wonderful process, you learn so much about yourself by doing it. Often when I'm taking pictures it seems as if I'm chasing a moment, like a beautiful bird that keeps escaping you. Establishing the Peter Sanders Photographic Library in the mid 1980's, his clients are varied from International publishers large and small, Advertising agencies Television companies, Marketing agencies, Designers, Fine art Publishers and more.
